Last Sunday was a beautiful sunny and warm November day. We just had to get outside and do a little fun trip with our kids. My sister recently visited the "Baumwipfelpfad" in Bad Wildbad, which lays in the amazing Black Forest. I love mountains… okay, the Black Forest is not the Alps, but it's only an hour drive away from our home (perfect for the naps of the kids).
The "Baumwipfelpfad" newly opened this September and is a new highlight of this area. You walk on a path of wood that is about 19 meters above the ground. You are face to face with the trees. And the best - well at least for families with littles ones… you can do it with your stroller. BAM! Perfect. We did that.
At the end there is this tower. It is quiet easy to reach the top (even with that stroller. Haha!) and then you have the best view. After leaving the path there is a short way back to the entry. And of course, there are several beer gardens and restaurants around. We really enjoyed the food in the Auerhahn Hotel/ Restaurant. Food and cake was delicious and the service very friendly.
Oh, and if you come by car: leave the car in the garage in Bad Wildbad and take the mountain railway. The parking lots on the "Sommerberg" are taken when it's a sunny weekend ;)
