I wanted some handwriting in my logo since weeks… no, month. Kind of since I took Lilla Rogers Make art that sells course and saw all those lovely logos from other illustrators. I never thought of handlettering before. I don't know why. Well, it is not that common in Germany as it is in the US, but that's no excuse since we have the internet, right? ;)
I really like lettering in illustrations and want to show my clients that I'd be happy to not only illsutrate, but also do a little lettering here and there. And I guess the logo is the one thing people keep in mind (well, hopefully) and often see first.
Anyway. I did it. There was a lot of signature doodles. Different directions I wanted to go.
Finally I chose one that fits my illustration style best. Callipgraphy is SO lovely. Or look at the handwriting of Flora Waycott. Stunning! But for me it had to have color and be sort of fun.
So this is what I came up with…
